About us

Since its establishment in April 2020, Changemakers has contributed to a growing body of work exploring racial and social justice through creative and collaborative practice.

Knowledge exchange and partnerships

Through knowledge exchange and partnerships across higher education, we have engaged academics and researchers in student-led conversations; a collaboration with SOAS brought together over 60 participants from across the UK.

We have also developed projects such as Decolonising Wikipedia and contributed to All Blackademik and Careers and Employability programme, producing critically informed content and dialogue.

At our college, we have consistently secured EDI funding and have produced Fellows of Higher Education. Thanks to this, we could run extended collaborative initiatives for developing knowledge and tools with students, staff and wider communities. All of that while navigating the institutional contexts and power dynamics that shape this work.

We co-developed panel discussions and shared spaces for dialogue with colleagues at:

  • SOAS University of London
  • University of Salford
  • University of Kent
  • University of São Paulo (Brazil).
