Our history at LCC

The Changemakers student partnership initiative began at London College of Communication (LCC), where several generations of student and graduate LCC Changemakers have been employed since April 2020.

Following LCC’s model, other colleges have established their own Changemakers teams.

Contributions since inception

  • Course reapproval and validation
  • Curriculum change processes
  • Workshops on racial and climate justice for staff and students
  • Public discussions with Changemakers from universities across the UK and internationally

Highlights 

Input into Contextual and Theoretical Studies 1 unit

LCC Changemakers involved students in ensuring their representation in the newly launched Contextual and Theoretical Studies 1 (CTS1) unit across Design School.

LCC Changemakers analysed CTS1 reading lists using an intersectional matrix to ensure the representation of diverse perspectives.

Empowering students to decolonise Wikipedia 

LCC Changemakers and Decolonising Wikipedia Network supported students with their projects to become Wikipedia editors or creators.
